BBC Three is looking for young people (16 – 25) with a serious mental illness to take part in a documentary called ‘Minds Like Ours’.
The documentary will feature young people showing filmed accounts of “their experiences and perspectives of mental illness”.
Contributors will be asked to film video diaries, conversations with friends and family, and will be encouraged to film their daily lives as they negotiate the road to adulthood.
Producers are hoping the documentary will help increase understanding on a range of mental health issues and confront the stigma that exists that surrounds the subject.
Producers add that contributors will be supported throughout the filmmaking process by an experienced production team. The documentary makers will also have an independent psychologist working on the show who will safeguard the welfare of contributors.
