The Lights! Camera! ACTION! campaign was on location at Swansea today as the mobile studio broadcast from Castle Gardens.
Among the film blogs from Swansea:
• Service user Richard Timm spoke to camera about the importance of physical health in recovery from mental illness and gave a great example of good practice in mental health services
• Service user Paul Bevan talked about the ambitious plans to study psychology which he included in his Care and Treatment Plan
• Swansea Council Leader David Phillips spoke with service users in the mobile studio about his experience of depression and what the Council is doing to support people with mental illness.

The Lights! Camera! ACTION! campaign calls upon services across Wales to deliver on the new Mental Health Measure and Strategy. In the past two years service users and carers have successfully campaigned for the new law and policy. Now these are in place it’s time to turn words into action: hence Lights! Camera! ACTION!
The campaign is supported by mental health charities Bipolar UK, Hafal and the Mental Health Foundation. Our mobile studio will be on location at 22 local county events taking place throughout the summer. The campaign will be officially launched by Health Minister Mark Drakeford at the National Assembly next week and will conclude with a red-carpet event at the Senedd on World Mental Health Day in October.
