A brand new purpose-built hospital for people with mental health problems is set to open in Powys.
The John Munroe Hospital Group says the 24-bed centre in Welshpool should be ready to open its doors in around six weeks time.
The hospital, which cost £2m, is built on the site of the old Severn House residential home in Greenfields.
Matthew Harris of the Munroe Group said: “The property was fit for a residential home but not for a hospital, so the majority of the building has been demolished and redeveloped.
“The hospital is now very near completion and we are meeting with Powys Local Health Board this week.”
