NICE issues guidance to improve service users’ experience in the NHS

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has produced new guidance which aims to improve the experience of care for people using adult NHS mental health services.

The guidance recommendations have been developed by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, service users, their carers and “guidance methodologists” after careful consideration of the best available evidence.

It is intended that the guidance will be useful to health and social care professionals and service commissioners in providing and planning a high-quality experience of care for people using mental health services.
