Large rise in suicide among male patients in mental health care

There has been a 29% rise among men who die by suicide while under the care of mental health services in the UK since 2006, a report by The University of Manchester’s National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Homicide by People with Mental Illness (NCISH) out today shows.

Minister unveils details of £7.6m for young people’s mental health services

The Welsh Government has unveiled details of the extra £7.6m funding for young people’s mental health services it announced earlier in the year. An extra £7.6m will be invested every year in child and adolescent mental health services in Wales to ensure young people receive the right treatment at the right time, Health and Social Services Minister Mark Drakeford said today.
